The Southern Pines Elks Lodge made a donation of $5,000.00 to The Ellie Jean Project.

<SOUTHERN PINES, NC> <May 24, 2018> This gift comes from a combination of grants the Lodge was able to generate through its own fundraising as well as the national Elks organization.

The Ellie Jean Project is a non-profit organization that raises money to build playgrounds and add equipment to playgrounds so all children, regardless of their physical limitations, have a safe and fun place to play.  The Project is designed to value each individual’s capabilities and efforts to look beyond their disabilities.  It will allow adventure and excitement for special needs children while enjoying parallel, social and outdoor play with their non-disabled peers and siblings.

We are thrilled to be able to support The Ellie Jean Project in a tangible fashion.  Our motto is “Elks Care, Elks Share”, and our members could not be happier than to get behind this cause.  It is our sincere hope that this donation is not only just a start for the Elks Lodge’s involvement with the Project, but that it will also help draw attention to the effort and serve as encouragement for others to become involved as well, “ says Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Bill Savoie.
